This temple was built on the coastline of Puri district by King Narasimhadeva I. You can witness beautiful sculptures of Hindu deities and artha and dharma scenes. The sculptures of the Konark sun temple have detailed architecture and the carved chariot wheel is one such major highlight of the temple. Stone carvings of this temple illustrate various aspects of life, mythology, and religious practices. The Konark sun temple showcases the Kalinga style of architecture.

Martand Sun Temple

The temple is located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. There was a Muslim ruler named Sikandar Shah Giri who destroyed this temple and the worst part is that some disastrous earthquakes destroyed it even more. This temple when existed possessed, a unique blend of Gandharan, Gupta, Roman, and Chinese architecture. Even though it is in ruins, the Martand Sun Temple still echoes its former grandeur.

This temple is situated near the Brahmaputra river and you can also find a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva at Surya Pahar temple. One major attraction of this site is that you can find Jain remains(Jain remains are hardly found in this area except in this temple). Some Buddhist remains were also discovered at this site.
